• Generations of Tradition: The family's first formal factory was established in Untergrombach, Germany, in 1876 by Meir Meerapfel. Though interrupted by World War II, the family rebuilt and became a monumental force behind global tobacco sourcing and trade.

• The Savior of Cameroon Wrapper: Cigar historians widely credit the late Richard "Rick" Meerapfel with saving African Cameroon wrapper tobacco from extinction in the early 1990s, elevating it to legendary status.
