Stolen Throne Cigars is a young boutique brand out of Virginia, founded by Lee Marsh and JR Cannon and blended in partnership with master blender Noel Rojas.
Brand and philosophy
-
The company started around 2018–2019, with the goal of “doing things your way” and pairing passion for cigar making with quality, consistency, and value for everyday smokers.
-
Marsh comes from outside the traditional tobacco families and is very up front about wanting an authentic, relationship‑driven boutique brand—no gimmicks, just thoughtfully built blends.
Factory and production
-
Stolen Throne works with Noel Rojas, originally at Tabacalera Flor de San Luis and later with his own operations, giving them access to distinctive Nicaraguan tobaccos and small‑batch production.
-
The footprint has grown to more than 300 retailers, but they intentionally limit growth to avoid back‑orders and protect existing accounts.
Core lines and profiles
-
Crook of the Crown: Debut line (2019), a medium‑bodied maduro and still their best‑seller; rich, dark, and dessert‑leaning profile available in robusto and toro.
-
Call to Arms: Second core line, featuring a Sumatra wrapper over Nicaraguan binder/filler; known for notes of chocolate, pepper, cream, leather, and nuts.
-
3 Kingdoms: Third core line with an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper and Nicaraguan tobaccos from three regions, delivering dark chocolate, leathery oils, and black licorice notes.
-
Additional offerings like Yorktown Fleet and limited or “limited exclusive” releases (e.g., Phantom Queen) expand the portfolio while staying within the same bold, flavorful house style.
Why they matter in the boutique lane
-
Stolen Throne is viewed as a “hot” craft brand: relatively small volume, strong word‑of‑mouth, and blends that appeal to fans of RoMa Craft, Illusione, Tatuaje, and similar boutique houses.
-
Their focus on consistent execution, strong relationships with shops, and accessible pricing makes them a solid choice if you want a newer boutique that still feels serious and grounded.
