Description

The Stolen Throne Limited Edition Revelry is the highly anticipated follow-up to the acclaimed Preakness 150. Blended by Lee Marsh and crafted at the Rojas Cigar Factory in Nicaragua, this small-batch release pushes the boundary of what made its predecessor so popular, packing amped-up body and complexity into a stout 5 x 54 Robusto Gordo.

With only 10,000 cigars produced globally (1,000 bundles of 10), it is a textbook boutique unicorn. Here is a breakdown of what to expect on the palate.

  • Binder: Nicaraguan

  • Filler: Nicaraguan

Flavor Profile & Evolution

First Third: The Awakening

From the first light, the Revelry makes its intentions clear. The Ecuadorian Habano wrapper fires up with a robust blast of dark cedar and sharp red pepper spice. Unlike some heavy-handed maduros, the spice doesn't overpower the palate; instead, it settles quickly into a dense, velvety smoke texture. Within the first half-inch, an underlying sweetness begins to peek through, teasing notes of high-percentage dark chocolate.

Second Third: The Sweet Spot

As the cigar transitions into the second third, the body firmly cements itself in the Medium+ territory. The red pepper moves to the background, lingering mostly on a very clean retrohale. The profile shifts toward a rich, savory espresso note intertwined with deep leather. What makes the Revelry stand out here is its transition—it feels noticeably more expressive and dynamic than the original Preakness 150 blend, with a distinct creaminess balancing out the darker notes.

Final Third: The Crescendo

In the final stretch, the strength notches up a bit closer to full, but the construction holds perfectly. The sweetness transitions from dark chocolate to a deeper, slightly charred molasses. Toasted espresso bean, heavy oak, and a resurrection of that initial black pepper spice dominate the palate. It smokes cool all the way down to the nub without a hint of bitterness.
